Aerodrome Safeguarding Twin

A shared spatial view of protected airspace, making safeguarding requirements easier to understand, assess and communicate.

Spatial Assessment

01 / Context

Aerodrome safeguarding protects the airspace around airports from development, structures and temporary works that could affect safe aircraft operations. As safeguarding requirements evolve, understanding these constraints across an airport and the surrounding city becomes increasingly complex, particularly when existing and future protection surfaces need to be considered together.

02 / System

The twin places safeguarding surfaces within their real-world spatial context, allowing proposed developments and temporary works to be assessed directly against them. Existing and future surfaces can be viewed together in 3D, making infringements, clearances and changing requirements easier to identify, understand and communicate across technical and non-technical teams.
